30 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby Marshall should be measuring about 15 1/2 inches long from head to heels and weighs about 3 whole pounds!
How far along?  30 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  I swear, every morning I wake up it seems bigger!  I feel HUGE!  I can't believe I have 2 months to go.  Harder and harder to maneuver around.
Belly button in or out?  Flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  We drove to Ikea last Saturday, which is in Salt Lake City, UT to pick up this dresser for the nursery.  (More below on that).  My birthday last week was wonderful.  We spent the day lollygagging around town, went to a new brewery (bummer for me) and went out to our fave restaurant for dinner.  All in all it was a great day!
Sleep: Eh, the same.  I get some sleep but wake up a lot due to having to go to the bathroom and hip aches.
Miss anything?  Yes and no.  I miss a lot of things but I know that this pregnancy is nearing it's end, so I'm sure I'll miss being pregnant too.
Movement:  WIGGLE WORM!  He's getting bigger, so his movements are much more intense.  Sometimes I almost jump if he rams a limb into my belly or rib (not because it hurts but because it kinda shocks me)
Food Cravings:  Same.  Ice water.  Anything cold and fruity.  I'm so thankful I haven't had any horrible cravings.  Water and fruit?  I'll take it!
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip aches during the night and stiff in the mornings.  I get horrible headaches daily - that's probably the worst.  My doctor told me to sip on a little coffee with caffeine if it gets really bad and it actually does work.
Labor Signs:   No
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  I'm seriously so excited!  I have been washing blankets, clothes, etc and trying to get the room ready.  It's so much fun.  I find myself sitting in his room just smiling.  Still pretty emotional too.
Looking forward to:  Doc appointment in 2 weeks!  I am also looking forward to a long weekend with my hubs.  We are soaking up these last two months!

So back to the dresser...it was pretty funny how important this dresser was to me.  We drove 5 hours each way to pick it up.  It was actually really nice to get out for the day.  I think Doug was a bit hesitant at first, having to drive all the way to Utah to pick up a dresser?  Well, the way that I was able to coerce him into going was that there is an In-N-Out Burger right near the Ikea.  His fave burger joint and it's been 2 years since he's had it.  Worked like a charm!  :) We left at 6am and were home by 7pm - not a bad day at all.  Well, then we had to put it together.  Good Lord!  I'm sure many of you know what Ikea furniture looks like when you take it out of the box - Billions of parts and pieces.  It took us about 4-5 hours on Sunday putting it together.  It probably wouldn't have taken so long if we hadn't installed one piece of wood incorrectly (whoopsie).  Oh well.  It's done and I am so happy with it.

We went back and forth on getting the white dresser or the gray-brown dresser.  After 20 minutes standing in the warehouse at Ikea...gray-brown it is!  Here it is put together in Marshall's room.  I LOVE IT!

Have a great day and enjoy your Memorial Day Weekend!

29 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby Marshall should be measuring a tad over 15 inches long from head to heels and weighs about two and a half pounds (like a butternut squash).  His muscles and lungs are continuing to mature and his head is growing bigger to make room for his developing brain - (important stuff!!!)
How far along?  29 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Growing and completely getting in the way.  I'm now an expert roller and I have a shelf to set my bowl of fruit
Belly button in or out?  Flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  28 week appointment last Friday.  We were able to see our sweet little guy during another ultrasound.  He looks awfully cozy in there.   Also, we had our maternity photos taken last Saturday by my dear friend Becky.  So much fun!  I will treasure those photos.  I'll share some soon.
Sleep: And boom, just like that, I'm back to really uncomfortable nights of sleep.  I roll from side to side at least 15 times a night due to my hips getting stiff and feeling them ache.
Miss anything?  Well, seeing as how it's my birthday...I will have to say cocktails.  I would love to go sit out on a patio and devour a bottle of wine.  :)
Movement:  All the time.  It's so fun to lay in bed and be entertained by his movement.  This is something I will miss for sure.  He is a constant wiggle worm.
Food Cravings:  Same.  Ice water.  Anything cold and fruity.
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Some hip aches during the night and right when I wake up.  I usually need to stretch a bit each morning.  What's up body heat!-I feel like I am on fire!  It was in the 90's a few days this week...thank goodness for central air!
Labor Signs:   No
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy, Sappy and EMOTIONAL (just ask my husband).  I started crying on Monday because I was stressed out by my dogs.  Ha!
Looking forward to:  Driving to Salt Lake City, UT this weekend to Ikea to pick up our dresser for the nursery.  Ikea wanted $350 bucks to ship the dresser to our house - no joke.  That's more than the price of the dresser.  Screw that!  Road trip it is!

28 week appointment went good.  I passed my glucose test - wahoo!  I will say that I thought that whole test was a piece of cake.  I've heard stories from people that the juice you drink is so horrible and disgusting.  I didn't mind the juice at all.   I will be having another ultrasound at 32 weeks to once again monitor the placenta location.

Have a great day!

28 weeks - Hello Third Trimester

Here are a couple pics from week 28

How big is the baby this week:  Baby should be measuring about 14.8 inches long from head to heels and weighs about two and a quarter pounds
How far along?  28 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Getting bigger quickly.  It's getting harder and harder to do normal things, like bend down and get up from the couch or bed.  It makes me feel so helpless.  :)
Belly button in or out?  Flat as a pancake!
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Definitely lots of wonderful moments!  I was in Wisconsin for 10 whole days spending time with fam and friends!  My best friend threw me a baby shower in Wisconsin, which was wonderful.   I got to spend lots of time with my Mom and we did some baby shopping.  So much fun!
Sleep: Sleep has actually been ok lately.  I still get up to pee quite a bit and need to roll over a lot but it's better than it was.  I wake up in the morning feeling super lethargic and have next to NO energy.
Miss anything?  As much as I'm loving this pregnancy, it will be nice to get my body back, as well as fit into my old clothes.  :)  I'm so out of breath with everything that I do, that it will definitely be nice to have that back.  I can't do much working out these days without sweating horribly and panting like a dog
Movement:  The movement has changed...I still feel some kicks but it's turning into more moving and pressure from him moving all around.  I still love love love it though.
Food Cravings:  Absolutely nothing new here.  Ice water, anything cold and fruity.  Doug made some homemade lemon bars last night and I seriously want to devour the whole pan.
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip aches during the night and as soon as I wake up.  A little tenderness in my back.  If I'm doing too much, I notice my ankles and feet swell.  And now that the heat has arrived, I swell so fast.  Yuck.  Thank goodness for central air!
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Very happy but very emotional.  Also, my patience level seems to be gone.  I find myself getting annoyed easily...like today at Walmart when some dill weed left his cart in front of my car instead of putting it in the cart return.  And what did I do?  I yelled some words to him, including a mild cuss word.  He just looked at me, got in his car and drove off.  Whatever.
Looking forward to:  Our 28 week doctor appointment this Friday.  Glucose test and ultrasound to check on my very low placenta.  Fingers crossed!  Also, we are driving to the Ikea in Salt Lake City next weekend to pick up the dresser for the nursery!

Here are a few pictures from my Wisconsin baby shower!  :)

26 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby should be measuring about 14 inches long from head to heels and weighs about a pound and two-thirds
How far along?  26 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Getting rounder and BIGGER!
Belly button in or out?  Pretty flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Definitely the crib arriving and being able to put it together.  It was surprisingly easy.  It looks so cute in his room.  I can't get over how funny it is to walk by and see a crib!
Sleep: I have about 1-2 decent nights of sleep per week.  The two things that seem to keep me up are waking up to go to the bathroom every hour-ish and my hips being sore.
Miss anything?  Not having to feel out of breath all the time
Movement:  Lots!
Food Cravings:  Pretty much the same.  OJ, ice water, fruit, smoothies.
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip aches and pains, stiffness, my lower back is starting to irritate me a bit.  Bad pelvic pain/pressure started last night.  The pain is terrible right now.  My doctor wanted to see me before I left today to make sure everything was ok.  I was cleared to travel and everything looks good.  He said it could be more stretching and pulling but to keep an eye on the pain.  What a scare though!  This pain is horrific!
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Same - happy and emotional.  Starting to get nervous and scared for child birth.
Looking forward to:  Wisconsin.  :)  I get to spend 10 days with my fam and friends.

Have a great week!

25 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby should be about 13 1/2 inches long from head to heels and weighs about 1 1/2 lbs
How far along?  Exactly 25 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  It's getting a bit more round.  Growing and growing which means more rolling and rolling ;)
Belly button in or out?  Same, almost flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  The crib arrived today and I already put it together!  I was super excited (obviously)!
We had a doc appointment last Friday and everything was great.  We were able to hear his heartbeat.  Next appointment (28 weeks), will be glucose test and an ultrasound to check on the location of placenta.
Sleep: Hit or miss.  I still wake up every hour.  I found that wedging a pillow behind me and in front seems to work the best.
Miss anything?  A good, long run!
Movement:  Moving, punching, kicking, rolling...you name it!  I love visually watching my belly move.
Food Cravings:  Same...fruit smoothies, fruit and OJ.  I make this awesome smoothie for lunch daily that my friend Kendall turned me on to.    I'm addicted.  My doctor told me that it's good because the protein will help my energy level (which it has).
1 cup Almond Milk (I use unsweetened)
1 tbsp Almond butter
3/4 cup blueberries (I use frozen)
1/2 of a banana
1 spoonful protein powder
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip pain during the night.  My back aches if I sit too long in the same spot.
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy and super emotional!  Crying happens more and more these days...happy crying as well as frustrated about such dumb crap.  :)
Looking forward to:  I leave for WI a week from today!  Looking forward to seeing my parents, my family and friends!  I haven't been home in 10 months!

Crib assembled!  The cute little model is Rain, my Chi-Terrier

Have a great rest of your week!

Nursery Planning

I am so excited to put the little Mister's room together!  Ever since I became pregnant, I have become obsessed with the yellow, grey and white color combo.   The room is painted a light grey color right now which is perfect.  For months now, I've been searching for the perfect decor for the room.
Here's my vision so far for Marshall's nursery...

Zinc letters from Anthropologie - LOVE these.  So far I just bought the "M" to place on a shelf or wall in the nursery.  I have been contemplating putting his whole name up on the wall but haven't decided that yet.  The only thing with these letters is that they are pretty darn pricey ($18 a pop)!

I am obsessed with the chevron pattern!  I came across a few cute blankets on etsy that I LOVE but haven't quite narrowed it down yet.  I love the yellow and white dots with the grey chevron pattern the best so far (pictured above).

Graco White Classic Crib - I have always wanted a simple white crib.  I loved this one and decided it's a must have.   Super cute, simple and great price!

Ever since Marshall started moving in my tummy, I have been singing the song "You are my Sunshine" to him.  I came across this cute picture at Kohl's and couldn't resist since the colors were perfect!

I also have my eye on this cute white dresser from Ikea and I plan to put a changing pad on top.  The nursery does not have a closet, so we really need to make it work with extra storage and a larger dresser.   I can't wait for it to all come together.
More to come...

24 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby is almost a foot long and weighs a little over a pound
How far along?  24 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Getting bigger and bigger each week.  It's beginning to get in the way.  Like when I turn a corner and run into a wall, or try to squeeze through a narrow space...yeah, good times.  :)  OH - it's also becoming more difficult to shave my legs.  It's so frustrating!  My little chi-terrier enjoys to lay her head on the bump - too cute.
Belly button in or out?  Almost flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Narrowing down a few items for the nursery.  I started buying a few things.  Also, purchasing our stroller!  So exciting!
Sleep: Same.  I wake up every hour to go to the bathroom and I also wake up due to hip pain and some back aches.  My hips are the worst.  Sometimes I even have to put a pillow under my hip for more cushion
Miss anything?  Sleep.  I can't even sleep an hour without having to get up to go to the little ladies room.  I guess it's prepping me for motherhood.
Movement:  He sure loves to move.  He really gets going when I drink orange juice.  :)
Food Cravings:  Fruit, OJ...and I've now started making my own fruit smoothies at home - DELISH!
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip pain during the night, as well as some back aches at night being on my side.  I haven't had anymore sciatic nerve pain for about a week (fingers crossed)...but I'm sure it'll make an appearance again at some point.  I have also started getting a couple nose bleeds.  I was sitting on the couch watching TV the other day and I felt this drip coming from my nose.  Such an interesting pregnancy symptom!  If I'm out and about doing too much during the days, I notice my feet swell a bit at night.
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy and emotional.  I seem to cry about anything and everything.  Hello hormones!
Looking forward to:  The next item to arrive for Marshall's nursery.  Eeek!

Stroller Test Run...

Hope everyone has a great week and weekend!
Hugs!
Jamie
