25 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby should be about 13 1/2 inches long from head to heels and weighs about 1 1/2 lbs
How far along?  Exactly 25 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  It's getting a bit more round.  Growing and growing which means more rolling and rolling ;)
Belly button in or out?  Same, almost flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  The crib arrived today and I already put it together!  I was super excited (obviously)!
We had a doc appointment last Friday and everything was great.  We were able to hear his heartbeat.  Next appointment (28 weeks), will be glucose test and an ultrasound to check on the location of placenta.
Sleep: Hit or miss.  I still wake up every hour.  I found that wedging a pillow behind me and in front seems to work the best.
Miss anything?  A good, long run!
Movement:  Moving, punching, kicking, rolling...you name it!  I love visually watching my belly move.
Food Cravings:  Same...fruit smoothies, fruit and OJ.  I make this awesome smoothie for lunch daily that my friend Kendall turned me on to.    I'm addicted.  My doctor told me that it's good because the protein will help my energy level (which it has).
1 cup Almond Milk (I use unsweetened)
1 tbsp Almond butter
3/4 cup blueberries (I use frozen)
1/2 of a banana
1 spoonful protein powder
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip pain during the night.  My back aches if I sit too long in the same spot.
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy and super emotional!  Crying happens more and more these days...happy crying as well as frustrated about such dumb crap.  :)
Looking forward to:  I leave for WI a week from today!  Looking forward to seeing my parents, my family and friends!  I haven't been home in 10 months!

Crib assembled!  The cute little model is Rain, my Chi-Terrier

Have a great rest of your week!

Nursery Planning

I am so excited to put the little Mister's room together!  Ever since I became pregnant, I have become obsessed with the yellow, grey and white color combo.   The room is painted a light grey color right now which is perfect.  For months now, I've been searching for the perfect decor for the room.
Here's my vision so far for Marshall's nursery...

Zinc letters from Anthropologie - LOVE these.  So far I just bought the "M" to place on a shelf or wall in the nursery.  I have been contemplating putting his whole name up on the wall but haven't decided that yet.  The only thing with these letters is that they are pretty darn pricey ($18 a pop)!

I am obsessed with the chevron pattern!  I came across a few cute blankets on etsy that I LOVE but haven't quite narrowed it down yet.  I love the yellow and white dots with the grey chevron pattern the best so far (pictured above).

Graco White Classic Crib - I have always wanted a simple white crib.  I loved this one and decided it's a must have.   Super cute, simple and great price!

Ever since Marshall started moving in my tummy, I have been singing the song "You are my Sunshine" to him.  I came across this cute picture at Kohl's and couldn't resist since the colors were perfect!

I also have my eye on this cute white dresser from Ikea and I plan to put a changing pad on top.  The nursery does not have a closet, so we really need to make it work with extra storage and a larger dresser.   I can't wait for it to all come together.
More to come...

24 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby is almost a foot long and weighs a little over a pound
How far along?  24 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Getting bigger and bigger each week.  It's beginning to get in the way.  Like when I turn a corner and run into a wall, or try to squeeze through a narrow space...yeah, good times.  :)  OH - it's also becoming more difficult to shave my legs.  It's so frustrating!  My little chi-terrier enjoys to lay her head on the bump - too cute.
Belly button in or out?  Almost flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Narrowing down a few items for the nursery.  I started buying a few things.  Also, purchasing our stroller!  So exciting!
Sleep: Same.  I wake up every hour to go to the bathroom and I also wake up due to hip pain and some back aches.  My hips are the worst.  Sometimes I even have to put a pillow under my hip for more cushion
Miss anything?  Sleep.  I can't even sleep an hour without having to get up to go to the little ladies room.  I guess it's prepping me for motherhood.
Movement:  He sure loves to move.  He really gets going when I drink orange juice.  :)
Food Cravings:  Fruit, OJ...and I've now started making my own fruit smoothies at home - DELISH!
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Hip pain during the night, as well as some back aches at night being on my side.  I haven't had anymore sciatic nerve pain for about a week (fingers crossed)...but I'm sure it'll make an appearance again at some point.  I have also started getting a couple nose bleeds.  I was sitting on the couch watching TV the other day and I felt this drip coming from my nose.  Such an interesting pregnancy symptom!  If I'm out and about doing too much during the days, I notice my feet swell a bit at night.
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy and emotional.  I seem to cry about anything and everything.  Hello hormones!
Looking forward to:  The next item to arrive for Marshall's nursery.  Eeek!

Stroller Test Run...

Hope everyone has a great week and weekend!
Hugs!

23 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby is almost a foot long and weighs a little over a pound
How far along?  23 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  G-R-O-W-I-N-G!
Belly button in or out?  It is pretty darn flat
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Going to register for baby stuff!  It's overwhelming but oh so fun!
Sleep: Same.  I wake up every hour to go to the bathroom and I also wake up due to hip pain and some back aches AND sometimes from Doug's snoring (sorry love)
Miss anything?  I cannot wait to go out for a couple glasses of vino and some SUSHI!
Movement:  My tummy is basically a jungle gym for little Marshall.  He kicks like crazy, squirms like crazy   I can visually see him move now - so amazing, yet strange.
Food Cravings:  Chicken Caesar Salads or Chicken Caesar wraps.  Yum!
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Ugh.  Hip pain.  My back gets achy if I'm in one place for too long.  And now the little shit must be sitting on a nerve because I've been getting horrendous butt cheek pain.  There are days where it gets so bad it hurts to walk and I have to lay down until it passes.  :) I'm lucky to have a hubby who rubs my butt cheek when it gets bad.  If anyone has any other advice on that, lemme know!  Now that the weather is getting warmer, I've also been feeling warmer.  The pregnancy warmth has begun!
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy and emotional.  I cry a lot...like when my dogs push my buttons
Looking forward to:  Putting the nursery together.  I have ideas but haven't bought anything yet.  I'm slowly getting there.  So many options!

Have a great day!

XOXOXO

22 weeks

How big is the baby this week:  Baby is about 11 inches long and weighs about 1 whole pound!
How far along?  Exactly 22 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Growing!  Rolling out of bed is what I do best
Belly button in or out?  It's almost flat at this point.  Due to a scar on the belly button from a surgery I had years ago...you can almost see an indent on my belly.    (Or at least I notice)
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Lots of kicks!
Sleep: Not so great.  It is pretty hard to get comfy.  I find it helpful to sleep with a pillow between my knees - seems to help a ton
Miss anything?  Cleaning the house without feeling like I'm panting like a dog
Movement:  All the time.  He likes to hang out on my right side.  Lots of little kicks.  Sometimes when I sing to him, he kicks. :)  He also loves music.
Food Cravings:  I haven't been craving anything really right now.  Still eat tons of fruit and drink lots of ice water
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  I've been getting some pain in the glute area...probably from my hips.  My legs feel pretty worn out by the end of the day.
Gender:  BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  Happy and emotional.  Last night we were laying in bed and I turned to Doug and was crying as I said "I'm crying and I have no idea why"
Looking forward to:  Putting together the nursery.  The room is painted a light gray color now, so I think we decided on doing grays, yellows and whites.  I love the gray and yellow together!

Hope everyone has a HAPPY HAPPY HIPPITY HOPPY EASTER!

XOXOXO

21 weeks - IT'S A (dun dun dun)

What an amazing few days it's been.  Doug and I both agreed that Friday was seriously one of the best days of our lives!  We found out that we are having a sweet baby boy!  He looked so perfect and so cute.  Nothing could have gone better that day.  We saw him moving around a ton, flexing his little fingers and toes.  We are truly blessed.

I had to share this one because it's just too cute!

Immediately after our appointment, we took a trip over to Baby Gap for a couple cute outfits, called my parents in WI and off to a dinner celebration we went!

On our way home from dinner, we decided to call my parents back to share the news of our name we picked.  We've kept it a secret for awhile now because we wanted it to be a surprise to my parents (my Dad especially).  We will be naming him Marshall Douglas Eason after my Dad, and Doug.  Doug actually thought of this name months ago and it grew on us big time!

Today I was able to celebrate with some friends (my old co-workers at Adecco).  We had a little gender reveal lunch.  They were beyond generous with lunch, flowers, balloons and gifts.   Thanks again guys!  I made cute little gender cupcakes that were filled with blue frosting.

And now onto my regular weekly update...

How big is the baby this week:  Baby is about 10 1/2 inches long and weighs three quarters of a pound
How far along? About 21 weeks
Due date: July 31st, 2013
The Bump:  Bigger every day.  It's getting harder to do normal things, like put on socks and shoes, get out of bed.   I kinda laugh at myself each morning because I have to literally roll out of bed
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Best moment of the week:  Well there are two big ones!  Last Thursday I felt full on kicks for the first time and Doug was able to as well.  He is a kicking machine.  I am obsessed and in love with his little baby kicks.  Last Friday we found out the gender...BOY!
Sleep: Not the best.  Some nights are better than others.  It's hard to get comfy.
Miss anything?  Being able to do something simple without feeling winded
Movement:  Lots of kicks and movement - My favorite!
Food Cravings:  Same...fruit smoothies, orange juice, fruit and ICE WATER
Anything making you queasy or sick?  Nope
Symptoms:  Some acid reflux/heartburn, hip aches through the night.  I noticed my back is starting to feel a little tight
Gender prediction:  IT'S A BOY!
Happy or moody most of the time?  HAPPY!
Looking forward to:  Now that we know the gender, I am so excited to put the nursery together!  Yippee!

We are just so excited for little Marshall Douglas to arrive!  :)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope everyone had a safe and fun St. Patty's Day!  Our day consisted of live music, great company, great food, lots of baby kicks and even a Virgin Bloody Mary for the prego (me)!  :)

I love holidays and I especially love the clothing, festivities and food that goes into holidays.  I also love holiday pajamas!

We took a stroll over to a local pub to grab a beverage and listen to some live bagpipes.  About a minute into the music, my sweet baby began kicking in my tummy like crazy.  ;)

Here's my hunky hubby...

I even got a beef stick straw in my bloody - bonus!

Our night ended with Doug's corned beef & cabbage and this new yummy dessert that I tried off Pinterest...St. Patrick's Day Pistachio Dessert - Yum Yum.   Get Pistachio Dessert Here
